As my sabbatical winds down it is time to reflect
and collect thoughts from my time spent the
fellowship in Estonia. As refreshihg as it was to
be away from our pathetic material culture, I am
soomewhat releived to return to my cottage, clean
the cobwebs, and prepare my mind for a new round
of activism.
While I was gone I did not miss much among my
fellow educators. They continue to bicker about
their pet theories and refuse to try on a world
view. They are locked into the walls of their self
selected prison, that wretched 19th century
factory called "school".
It's going to take a few days to transcribe my
notes and to translate some of the philosophy
transcripts I unccovered in Tartu.
We don't need more theories, we need effetive
research, assessment, and academic rigor. And damn
this infernal technology, buy my university is
requring online documentation. The things I sell
my soul to to.
